Frequently Asked Questions
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT ROME?
Rome is beautiful year-round but the summer months are by far the most popular and are therefore the most crowded season for visiting. The high season used to be June, July and August but the recent trend has been to start raising prices from Easter onwards so the cheapest and least crowded time to visit is just after New Years and on until Easter. September, October and November are also great months to visit because the warm weather tends to stick around but the crowds thin out. Check out Rome's weather forecast here.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO MY HOTEL/B&B?
Rome's official taxis have set-rates from Fiumicino and Ciampino airports to the city center and that is one option, but we would also suggest choosing a reliable shuttle service such as Rome Airport Shuttle.
SHOULD WE RENT A CAR IN ROME?
Traffic in Rome can be daunting and finding a parking spot could have you wasting precious sightseeing time on needless frustration. We would suggest sticking with public transportation for the duration of your stay in Rome and renting a car only if you are planning to spend a lot of time visiting small towns outside of Rome.
